Information For Students

How to find a Campus Job

  1. Look through the on-line list of student employment opportunities. Pick at least three that seem appropriate for your schedule and job skills. There are many different kinds of jobs here at Bard, from office work to outdoor maintenance. Choose one that fits with your personality and the demands of your academic course load.
  2. Contact the faculty or staff member via email or telephone, depending on which form of contact they list in the job description online. Don't be afraid to follow up! Faculty and staff members get busy during the start of the semester, so if you don't hear from them within a few days, leave another voice mail message or send another email to remind them that you are interested in the position. You can also visit the office of the potential employer in person during the appropriate office hours if you are unable to get in touch with them. If that does not work, contact the Student Employment Office.

-or-
  • in lieu of the two forms of ID above, you can bring your Passport.

IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THE ABOVE STEPS, YOU WILL NOT BE PAID, EVEN IF YOUR EMPLOYER PERMITS YOU TO BEGIN WORKING.

2. While you are there, pick up a time sheet and payroll schedule so you are familiar with pay dates. You will receive a paycheck in your campus mailbox the following Friday after the time sheets have been handed in to Chris.
