XIX is a new project by electronic trumpeter/composer Ben Neill with vocalist Mimi Goese and video artist Bill Jones. XIX explores the expressive qualities of 19th century romanticism with new digital technologies, voice and acoustic instruments. Ambient micro- electronics sampled from 19th century music are combined with Mimi's hauntingly beautiful voice, the futuristic sounds of Neill's mutantrumpet and live interactive video by Jones. Bassist John Conte and drummer Jim Mussen add deep live grooves to the mix. XIX creates a digital romantic dreamscape of music and images.
