Financial Aid
Bard financial assistance only applies to Bard students who participate in Bard-sponsored programs, including, Smolny College, St. Petersburg Russia; the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa; the Bard-Humboldt University Program, Berlin, Germany; and the Bard in New York: Globalization and International Affairs Program. Financial Aid is available on a pro-rated basis for Bard Language Intensive Programs and IHRE. Students should consult with the Office of Financial Aid to determine the exact terms and conditions of assistance
Students participating in a study abroad program through another U.S. or foreign institution will not receive any Bard-based aid. However, state and federal funding, such as TAP, Pell, Perkins and Stafford Loans, may be transferrable. Students should visit the Office of Financial Aid to determine eligibility. Students should also inquire directly with the sponsoring institution about the availability of aid. For example, Academic Year Abroad provides scholarships each year for Bard students to study in Paris and Madrid. The federal government also provides scholarships through the National Security Education Program and the Benjamin A. Gilman program.
