Conversation with Wilfried Dickhoff

Wilfried Dickhoff is currently visiting professor in the art history department of Basel University. Previously, he was visiting professor at Princeton University (2005), professor of art theory at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (2000), and founding co-director of postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Enschede, Holland. He was curator of Fröhliche Wissenschaft (2004), Poème / Image: Verhältnisse zwischen Bild und Text (2003), Tony Oursler – Shock Rock (2002), and co-curator of In Between: The Art Project of Expo 2000 Hanover (2000). Recent publications include After Nihilism – Essays on Contemporary Art, Cambridge University Press (2000), and Für Eine Kunst Des Unmöglichen, Verlag and Kiepenheuer & Witsch (2001). He took his doctorate in philosophy from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main.
