CCS Conversation: Joan Retallack

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Joan Retallack’s early projects in the arts were visual as well as poetic. She is the author of Musicage: John Cage in Conversation with Joan Retallack (Wesleyan University Press) for which she received the America Award in Belles-Lettres. She has exhibited and performed her procedural work in many venues in this country and in Europe. She is the author of six volumes of poetry—among them Memnoir, Mongrelisme, How To Do Things With Words, Afterrimages, and Errata 5uite—for which she won the Columbia Book Award, a Gertrude Stein Award, and a Lannan Poetry Grant. Retallack will read from her work and speak about experimental poetics and investigative procedures.
