The CCS Bard Archives contain the institutional archives for the Center for Curatorial Studies and the Hessel Museum of Art. The collection contains documentation of the complete exhibition and programming history of CCS Bard.
Other collections in the CCS Bard Archives include the organizational archives of select galleries such as the Virginia Dwan Gallery Archives, and the personal papers of select curators, artists, and artist-run spaces and initiatives. The CCS Bard Archives also contain Study Collections which document significant international curators, and a selection of historic exhibitions.
The Archives at the Center for Curatorial Studies are open to the Bard community, and researchers and scholars from other institutions throughout the US and abroad conducting original research. Appointments are necessary for all researchers who wish to consult materials.

The CCS Bard Institutional Archives
This collection documents the development of the Center for Curatorial Studies as an exhibition, education, and research center dedicated to the study of art and curatorial practices from the 1960’s to the present. The collection includes the full exhibition history of the CCS Galleries and the Hessel Museum of Art, including student exhibitions and graduate program events and exhibitions. The institutional archives also contain artist's files for each of the artists represented in the Hessel Museum of Art collection. Artist files may include: brochures, invitations, press materials and clippings, reviews, and documentation of specific works.
The working files of the curatorial staff for the exhibition Culture in Action - a public art program of Sculpture Chicago (1992-1993). The collection was donated by Mary Jane Jacob, curator.
The Virginia Dwan Galleries Archive: 1959-1971 Los Angeles and New York City
The archives of the Virginia Dwan Gallery consists of materials relating to the exhibitions held at the Dwan Gallery - Los Angeles from 1959-1967 and the Dwan Gallery - New York from 1965-1971. Each exhibition is documented with materials including press releases, exhibition checklists, photographic documentation of the exhibitions, announcements, magazine and newspaper reviews, and other materials.

The working files of the curatorial staff for the exhibition Places with a Past: New Site-Specific Art at Charleston's Spoleto Festival (1991). The collection was donated by Mary Jane Jacob, curator.
