Walead Beshty Photography. B.A., Bard College. London-born artist and writer based in Los Angeles. Solo exhibitions at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; China Art Objects Galleries, Los Angeles; Wallspace Gallery and P.S.1/MoMA Contemporary Art Center, New York. Forthcoming exhibitions/ projects include solo shows at China Art Objects Galleries, LAXART, and a public project at Hollywood and Highland, in addition to group exhibitions at Kunsthalle Zürich, and Mitchell-Innes & Nash Gallery in New York. Group exhibitions include Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; ZKM Karlsruhe; Orange County Museum of Art; Hammer Museum; White Columns; Whitney Museum of American Art. His writing has appeared in Afterall, Aperture, Artforum, Art on Paper, Cabinet, Influence, North Drive Press, and Texte zur Kunst, among others, and he has written several catalogue essays. He curated The Gold Standard at P.S.1 (with Robert Nickas) and a print-based exhibition for Cabinet magazine (fall 2007), among others. He has taught regularly at CalArts and UCLA, and has been visiting faculty at ArtCenter, UCI, and Art Institute of Chicago.
