On Tuesday, February 12, the Institute honors Bruce Chilton and Jacob Neusner on their recent publications. Their discussion, in the Weis Cinema of the Bertelsmann Campus Center begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by a tea and book signing. Click here for details.

The 2008 Lenten Lecture Series, "Prophecy, Social Justice, and the Vision of God," by Bruce Chilton, is offered on Wednesdays, February 13, thorugh March 12. Click here for details.

Bruce Chilton offers a week-long seminar, available for graduate credit, on his new book Abraham's Curse, at the Passionist Retreat Center in the Bronx.The seminar is offered by Wisdom University from March 31 to April 4. Click here for details and registration.

Bard Chaplaincy Events
Join the Bard Chaplaincy for celebrations of Ash Wednesday at noon on Wednesday, February 6, in the Chapel of the Holy Innocents. In the Chapel on Sundays at 11:00 a.m., Catholic Mass at Bard College is a celebration that brings together people of diverse backgrounds, hopes and life experiences.  Evensong-- a multitude of candles, a celebration of light--is offered every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Shabbat Services are offered on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in Beit Shalom-Salaam (basement of Village Dorm A).

The Institute is pleased to present a discussion and book signing in honor of volumes edited by our own Bruce Chilton and Jacob Neusner. On Tuesday, February 12, we'll celebrate the publication of Professor Neusner's Encyclopedia of Religious and Philosophical Writings in Late Antiquity and Professor Chilton's The Cambridge Companion to the Bible. This spring the Institute offers a three-day conference exploring the way the Golden Rule is interpreted in world religions. Organized by Professors Chilton and Neusner, the conference is begins on Tuesday, April 15, through Thursday, April 17.(more)
