A Lecture by Erin Buzuvis
The Trump administration has taken several legal and administrative actions to roll back and restrain civil rights protections for transgender individuals. This lecture will examine the legal implications of the Trump administration's policies regarding civil rights law in the contexts of education, employment, and healthcare. It will examine the differences between enforcement of civil rights by government agencies and by the courts, and analyze recent court decisions addressing complaints of discrimination based on gender identity.
Erin Buzuvis is a professor of law and the director of the Center for Gender and Sexuality Studies at Western New England School of Law. Her writing focuses on gender and discrimination in education and athletics.
