The 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Arthur Ashkin “for the optical tweezers and their application to biological systems” and jointly to Gérard Mourou and Donna Strickland “for their method of generating high-intensity, ultra-short optical pulses.” In this talk, we will go through these groundbreaking laser developments and the impact they have had on precision measurements.For more information, call 845-752-7302, or e-mail [email protected].
