Our People

The Bard MBA faculty reflects the broad diversity and extraordinary talent of sustainability-focused leaders in the New York City region and beyond. In addition to the permanent faculty at Bard, the weekend intensive structure of the program supports a remarkable set of cutting-edge practitioners as program faculty. Some of our faculty teach full time; some share their expertise for set modules. Guest lectures and case presentations are a prominent feature of the program. Experienced business leaders also support the program on the MBA Advisory Board.

George Perlov

George Perlov MPA; Columbia University. George Perlov is a marketing and communications consultant based in New York City who helps nonprofit, government and corporate clients improve their impact in addressing a host of social, environmental and health-related issues through strategic planning, research and evaluation. He was previously Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation at the Advertising Council, the largest producer of public service communications campaigns in the US. In this position he was responsible for advising the planning and research process for the Council’s campaigns, monitoring and measuring of donated media, evaluating campaign effectiveness, proprietary research the Council conducts on public service directors and social issues, international issues, as well as special strategic initiatives. Prior to Ad Council, he spent over 10 years in the commercial advertising world, in the areas of account management and strategic planning. He has also lived and worked in Japan, both in the private sector and as a Mombusho English Fellow, teaching in rural public schools. 

As a public speaker, Perlov has addressed audiences at the Advertising Research Foundation Conference, the Independent Sector Conference, the Academic Educational Research Association Conference and the National Community Service Conference, in addition to numerous speaking engagements in Europe and the Caribbean. He is a two-time recipient of the EFFIE award for effective advertising, which is awarded by the American Marketing Association. He is a graduate of Oberlin College and has a Masters of Public Administration degree from Columbia University.
