Student On-campus Housing

On-campus housing is available during the summer session. Two types of housing are available; single and family. Applicable housing charges will be added to your student account and must be paid in full prior to the move-in date. Students are responsible for their own bed and bath linens and cookware. All dorms are non-smoking. No pets are allowed in campus housing. To request on-campus housing, click on the link below and submit the online form by May 7.

Student On Campus Housing Request Form

Single

The fee for single student housing is $1,214 for the eight-week session. Each student receives a private room with shared bath in a carpeted, air-conditioned residence hall. Common kitchen and laundry facilities are located on the first floor. Internet and phone services are available in each room. Most rooms include two twin beds; some have only one twin bed. Housing will be in the Ravine houses (New Toasters); they are located near Bard's campus center and are convenient to all MFA facilities. Most dorms are co-ed; depending on student requests, some dorms may be single-sex and/or "quiet."

Move-in dates: Friday, June 8 - Monday, June 11

Move-out dates: Friday, August 3 - Sunday, August 5 (by noon)

Family

On-campus family housing is available for $1,900 for the eight-week session. Families are housed in suites with three bedrooms (two double and one single), full bath, kitchenette and dining/living area. Suites are air conditioned and not carpeted. Availability of suites is limited and are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis; preference is given to families with children. Family housing is located in the Village Dormitories near the gymasium in a slightly wooded area.

Move-in dates: Friday, June 8 - Monday, June 11

Move-out dates: Friday, August 3 - Saturday, August 4 (by 10am)

Head Residents

We will again hire one student (2nd or 3rd year students only) per student dorm to be head resident (with the exception of family housing). Head residents will arrive before and depart after all other students, and will oversee dorm relations and building maintenance. • Conduct regular inspections of building and report any problems to the MFA office (i.e. broken appliances/furnishings, burnt out light bulbs, water/AC problems, etc)
  • Act as a liaison between dorm residents and MFA office
  • Supervise student clean-up of dorms at the end of the summer session

Requirements:

  • Be a 2nd or 3rd year student
  • Arrive on campus early in the day on Friday, June 8 and stay until the afternoon of Sunday, August 5
