Two young mothers share how they obtained a college degree through the Bard Microcollege program in Holyoke, Massachusetts, an accredited associate’s degree program that provides a pathway to higher education for low-income women. “Throughout my life I’ve had moments where I feel like I believe I can do something, but it fades—it wouldn’t stay with me,” says Jacqueline Velez. “At Bard I could say it became instilled in me, because they believed in me more than I believed in myself.” Segment begins at 1:15.
