Professor Teachout also co-founded the Fair Trial Initiative, which provides resources to attorneys working on death penalty cases. She has worked as a political consultant to nonprofits, political campaigns and citizen journalism organizations. For Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign, she directed Internet organizing. More recently she worked at America Coming Together, Current TV and was a fellow at the Berkman Center and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke Law School.
