Featuring guest composer/arranger/trumpeter Eddie Allan.
Trumpeter, composer, arranger, conductor, clinician, author & leader, Eddie Allen is called to play everything from jazz to R & B/pop to latin to Broadway. He studied music, theory and arranging at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee before moving to the east coast where he received a Bachelor of Music degree at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. He’s worked with such greats as; Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Joe Henderson, Bette Midler, Frank Foster, Freda Payne, Gloria Gaynor, the Skatalites, Steve Turre’s Sanctified Shells, Louis Hayes, Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy, Etta Jones, Houston Person, Mongo Santamaria, Vanessa Rubin, Rufus Reid, Clark Terry, Ben Harper and Muhal Richard Abrams. He’s performed in the orchestras of such Broadway hits as; Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black & Blue, Jelly’s Last Jam and the Color Purple. He currently leads a jazz quartet, a quintet, an Afro-Cuban/Brasilian septet and a 17-piece big band. He continues to work as a free-lance musician and clinician.
