Music Program Presents
Piano Duo Concert
Hiroko Sakurazawa
An active pianist living in Linz, Austria, Maki Namekawa and local pianist Hiroko Sakurazawa will perform pieces for two pianos and four hands.
Namekawa and Sakurazawa have known each other since they were both high school students and studied at Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo.
After graduating, Namekawa continued her studies in Germany with Pierre-Laurent Aimard among others and Sakurazawa mainly with Aki Takahashi, one of the leading pianists in Japan. Namekawa has been performing actively worldwide. Recently she has toured with Phillip Glass, performing and recording his complete Piano Etudes.
A few years ago, Namekawa and Sakurazawa happened to meet in New York again and found that they both have similar musical interests. This will be their premiere as a duo.
