Parks is a dazzling contemporary playwright and screenwriter, famous for Topdog/Underdog, The America Play, and her adaptation of The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. The first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize in Drama, Time magazine named her one of “100 innovators for the Next Wave.”
