Hello, The following event may be of interest to you: Faculty Seminars Wednesday, May 1, 2013 Philip JohnspresentsBring ‘em back alive: Genomics in the jungleThere is a rich tradition of exploration and collection in the biological sciences. Although we might think of such studies as remnants of the 20th or even 19th Centuries, genomics has become accessible enough that we can ask meaningful genetic and evolutionary questions based on explorative field biology. In this talk, Philip Johns recounts a recent research venture he and a student undertook in Borneo and Malaysia, attempts to put this into a historical context, and outlines a vision of combining genomics, field, and behavioral biology.
