Hello,

Patterns of Decline in Avian Scavengers
Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Vultures are the most rapidly declining group of birds in the world.  In East Africa, some species of vulture have declined dramatically but other scavenging birds are actually increasing.  Research on habitat use and competition between avian scavengers has helped to illuminate why some species are more susceptible to extinction and what can be done about it.  In addition to a research talk, I will also discuss ecosystem services and run a short activity looking at experimental design.Dr. Kendall is in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology at Columbia University.
