The Nicaragua Project, a Trustee Leader Scholar (TLS) program at Bard College, presents a lecture by Juan Enrique Canales, the mayor of Chacraseca, Nicaragua. The TLS Nicaragua Project helps to build houses in Chacraseca, an impoverished rural area on the western coast of Nicaragua. For the past six years, every January over winter break, a group of Bard students volunteers alongside a construction crew, building houses while living with local families.
