During the weekend of November 30 – December 2, Bard College will host the northeast regional C2C Fellows Sustainability Leadership Workshop. Directed by Eban S. Goodstein, director of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy (Bard CEP) and dean of the Bard MBA in Sustainability, the workshop offers training to college students and recent graduates aspiring to become sustainability leaders in politics and business.

Bard College announces the appointment of esteemed artist Ellen Driscoll as Professor of Studio Arts in the Division of the Arts. Driscoll, who joins the College in the fall semester of 2013, will codirect the Studio Arts Program with Judy Pfaff, Richard B. Fisher Professor in the Arts.

Obie Award–winning director Annie Dorsen presents Hello Hi There, a witty and humorous play in which the actors are two laptop computers—or “chatter bots”—discussing human nature, in a conversation based on a famous debate between the philosopher Michel Foucault and linguist/activist Noam Chomsky. The performance takes place in the Fisher Center’s Theater Two, on Tuesday, November 27, at 6 and 8 p.m.

Seventeen-year-old filmmaker and Bard College at Simon's Rock student Zev Vel has accomplished a lot since becoming interested in film just a few years ago. His documentary short The Symbol of Peace has been accepted to four film festivals.

The Library and Archives at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College (CCS Bard) has acquired the archives of Colin de Land’s American Fine Arts, Co. (A.F.A) and the Pat Hearn Gallery from the estate of Colin de Land. The acquisition serves as a cornerstone of CCS Bard’s initiative to build a unique research collection comprising the personal papers and archives of innovative and influential contemporary art curators, art dealers, critics, galleries, and art spaces. The acquisition also supports CCS Bard’s 20^th Anniversary Next Decade campaign, which aims to raise funds over the next ten years to maintain the school’s internationally renowned, world-class faculty and research and exhibition center.
