ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—Bard College presents a candidate forum on Monday, October 22, offering the community a chance to meet candidates running for the Dutchess County Legislature and the positions of Town of Red Hook Supervisor, Town Council, and Town Judge. The forum begins with a reception at 7:00 p.m., followed by presentations beginning at 7:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public and are held in the Bertelsmann Campus Center.
“Every major candidate will be present to take questions and address issues,” explains Jonathan Becker, dean of international studies and associate dean of College. “They have been asked to comment particularly on the impact of elections on issues confronting 18 – 24-year-olds.” While some questions are taken during the event, most questions are vetted ahead of time, insuring relevance and fairness. To pose a question, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of the day on Friday. The questions may be directed to any of the candidates for offices (note: there are legal restrictions on the types of questions that can be posed to judicial candidates).
