NATIONAL ESTUARIES DAY WILL BE CELEBRATED ON SEPTEMBER 18 WITH “SCIENCE AT THE BAYS”

Free program will feature guided walks of the Tivoli South Bays, tours of the Bard College Ecological Field Station, and children’s activities
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—On Saturday, September 18, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve will host the free program “Science at the Bays,” in honor of National Estuaries Day. Tours will begin at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. at the Community Garden at Bard College. Reservations are required; call 845-758-7016 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Science at the Bays” features a 1.5 mile, two-and-a-half hour guided walk, led by river scientists, of Tivoli South Bay and the Bard College Ecological
Field Station. Children’s activities are planned for each stop along the tour as participants learn about ongoing research at the reserve.
In the event of heavy rains or thunderstorms, the program will be cancelled.
