BARD MUSIC PROGRAM OFFERS FIVE CONCERTS IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.â€”The Music Program at Bard College will offer five concerts in November and December. For further information, call 845-758-7250 (except as noted below).
On Tuesday, November 29, the Da Capo Chamber Players and Guests will present an evening of new compositions and orchestrations by Bard composers. The programâ€”coordinated by Joan Tower, Asher B. Edelman Professor in the Arts at Bardâ€”will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Bard Hall.
On Monday, December 5, there will be a concert by the Jazz Guitar Ensemble, directed by Peter Einhorn, and the Bard College Big Band, directed by Thurman Barker, associate professor of music. This program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the New Blum N211.
On Tuesday, December 6, there will be a performance by the Bard College Electro-Acoustic Ensemble, directed by Richard Teitelbaum, professor of music at Bard. This program begins at 8:00 p.m. in Bard Hall.
On Wednesday, December 7, the Bard College Community Chorus and Chamber Singers, directed by James Bagwell, associate professor of music at Bard, will perform Mozartâ€™s Vesperae solennes de Confessore and Haydnâ€™s Mass in Time of War. This program begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Sosnoff Theater of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is $5, free for Bard students and children 12 and under. On Tuesday, December 13, the Bard College Orchestra, directed by Mark Mandarano, will perform Schumannâ€™s Overture, Scherzo, and Finale, Op. 52 and Beethovenâ€™s Overture (Coriolan), Op. 62. Soloists include two members of the Colorado Quartet, violinists Julie Rosenfeld and D. Lydia Redding. This program will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Sosnoff Theater of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is $5, free for Bard students and children 12 and under. For further information, call the box office at 845-758-7900.
