Biography:
Zachary Weinstein’s area of specialization is the philosophy of art, mind, and language; areas of interest also include epistemology and continental philosophy. His dissertation at the University of Toronto addressed “Art and Enigma: A Theory of Artistic Meaning, Communication, and Appreciation.” He is the recipient of numerous awards and travel grants from, among others, the University of Toronto, Government of Ontario, American Society for Aesthetic, and the New School. Weinstein is the coauthor, with Mohan Matthen, of “Aesthetic Hedonism,” in Oxford Bibliographies in Philosophy (2019). Courses taught include Persons, Minds, and Bodies; Issues in Philosophy of Mind: Perception; and Philosophy of Art.BA, Swarthmore College; MA, New School for Social Research; PhD candidate, University of Toronto.
