Biography:
Andy Robert is a Haiti-born, Brooklyn-based painter whose work is in the collections of, among others, Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Dallas Museum of Art; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Studio Museum in Harlem; and Whitney Museum of American Art. He is the recipient of numerous awards, grants, and fellowships, including a special gift from the estate of Pierre Guyotat; Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant; Benny Andrews Fellowship at MacDowell; Foundation for Contemporary Arts Roy Lichtenstein Award; and Studio Museum Harlem artist residency. Recent solo exhibitions at the Michael Werner Gallery, London (forthcoming); and Hannah Hoffman Gallery and Papillion, Los Angeles, Select group exhibitions at venues including MoMa PS1, New York; Greene Naftali, New York; Xavier Hofkens, Brussels; LA Louver; Greene Naftali at Galerie Chantal Crousel, Paris; Blank Forms, Brooklyn; Pollock Krasner Foundation / Stony Brook University (online); and 58th Carnegie International, Pittsburgh (forthcoming).BFA, Maryland Institute College of Art; MFA, California Institute of the Arts; also attended the Whitney Independent Study Program.
