Biography:

BA, English literature, Columbia University; MA, PhD, comparative literature, New York University; Certificate in Education, University of Brasilia. Recipient of fellowships: Remarque Institute, Mellon Foundation (1996); American Council of Learned Societies (1995); International Research & Exchanges Board (1995); Anaïs Nin Scholarship, New York University (1994–95). Taught at New York University, Columbia University, Independent British Institute (Brasilia), Cultura Inglesa (Brasilia). Member of Après-Coup Psychoanalytic Association, New York, since 1989. International Student and Scholar Support Coordinator. At Bard since 2003.

Fields of interest: literature, politics, Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis.
