Biography:
Nathan Thrall is the Jerusalem-based author of The Only Language They Understand: Forcing Compromise in Israel and Palestine (Metropolitan Books, 2017). Thrall's forthcoming work of narrative nonfiction, A Day in the Life of Abed Salama: Anatomy of a Jerusalem Tragedy, will be published by Metropolitan Books in the fall of 2023. His writing in the London Review of Books, Guardian, New York Times Magazine, and New York Review of Books, among other publications, has been translated into more than a dozen languages. Thrall is the former director of the Arab-Israeli Project at the International Crisis Group. His analysis is often featured in print and broadcast media, including the BBC, CNN, Democracy Now!, the Economist, Financial Times, Guardian, New York Times, PRI, Time, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post.BA, College of Creative Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara; MA, Columbia University.
