Longy School of Music of Bard College
longy.eduThe Longy School of Music is a degree-granting conservatory located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a unique master of arts in teaching campus in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1915 by renowned oboist Georges Longy, the school is committed to preparing its students to meet a changing musical landscape head-on, giving them the skills to perform, the ambition to teach, and the desire to expand access and opportunity within classical music. Every student is required to live by Longy’s bold mission—to become the musician the world needs them to be—by actively serving the community around them. Longy is the only conservatory in the United States that weaves artistry and service together as an integral part of the curriculum. The result is shaping a new future for classical music. Longy offers a master of music degree, master of music/master of education program, undergraduate diploma, graduate performance diploma, graduate diploma in composition, artist diploma, and the Dalcroze certificate and license.
