Featured Events

  • BardWorks
The BardWorks series programs and event allows students to reflect on their next steps while honing their professional and networking skills and learning how to translate their skills and talents into the workplace
  • Recruiting Events
Bard College partners with LAUNCH (Liberal Arts Undergrad Network for Career & Hiring). LAUNCH's virtual recruiting events in the fall and winter are open to juniors and seniors and are excellent opportunities to apply and interview for jobs beginning after graduation, as well as summer internships.
  • Alumni/ae Panels
In the CDO's ongoing series of alumni/ae panels, you'll hear from Bard graduates about how they translated their liberal arts education to a range of careers. Learn about the work that they do, gain insight into the field, and hear firsthand about industry trends.

Prehealth, Medicine, Public Health, and Sciences

CDO works with the prehealth adviser to offer pathway overviews and cover topics related to academic course selection and how to find experiential learning opportunities, both on and off campus. CDO works closely with the Biology and Prehealth Clubs on campus to organize talks and employer presentations related to this field. The LAUNCH program also offers seniors the opportunity to apply for research positions with top medical research hospitals
  • Prelaw

    Prelaw

CDO works directly with the Bard Prelaw adviser, Rachel Cavell, and the Law, Justice, and Society student club, and the Alumni/ae Affairs Office to organize law school talks, and alumni/ae panels. CDO's Pre-Law Adviser offers one-on-one advising sessions for students considering legal pathways as well as group-focused Pre-Law gatherings and conversations throughout the year.
  • Finance, Business, and Technology

    Finance, Business, and Technology

CDO collaborates with the Economics Club, Investment Club, technology faculty, and the Alumni/ae Affairs Office to offer career pathway talks with alumni/ae panelists.

CDO co-sponsors students to participate in the Wall Street Prep virtual boot camp every January. Students are immersed in a two-day intensive, during which they learn financial modeling and Excel skills.

Alumni/ae in the tech field have offered coding interview practice sessions for students studying in the computer science field at Bard.

The Fall LAUNCH recruiting program allows seniors and juniors to be considered for first-round interviews with employers hiring in these fields. Over the years many employers have hired Bardians through this consortium for full-time roles and summer internships.

Building Your Network

  • Making Connections
Through CDO events, Bard students have many opportunities to build and practice their networking skills, an important component of job and internship searches. CDO staff work with students to help them articulate their stories and engage in meaningful conversation and correspondence with professionals. CDO also encourages students to join the Bard Career Network platform boasting over 700 + alumni/ae profiles as a way to connect and facilitate informational interviews and mentorship conversations. Students can also reach out to the Office of Alumni/ae Affairs to learn more about connecting to alumni/ae working in their fields of interest.
