Environmental Purchasing, Kaiser Permanente

Rachel Baker works at Kaiser Permanente, as a lead on environmental purchasing and supply chain management in Oakland, California. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of Kaiser Permanente’s environmentally preferred purchasing program. Kaiser owns more than 40 hospitals and 400 medical office buildings, and is the largest health care system in the United States. It purchases more than $12 billion in products and services each year, and Rachel is working on “greening” that supply chain. Rachel recently reached the five year mark at Kaiser Permanente as their lead on Environmental Purchasing and is poised to begin a new job with the company heading up sustainability for our Northern California region.
