Jaram Kim

Jaram Kim A laureate of the Yehudi Menuhin International Young Violinists Competition, Jaram Kim made her debut at the age of six in GwangJu Namdo Art Concert Hall in Korea. She came to the United States to study at the Juilliard Pre-College Division in the studio of Hyo Kang and made her New York debut as soloist with the Jupiter Symphony under the baton of Maestro Jens Nygaard. After graduating from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was a student of Ida Kavafian, Jaram pursued graduate studies at the Yale School of Music, the Scuola di Musica in Florence, and the Accademia Walter Stauffer Fondazione in Cremona during which time her teachers included Ani Kavafian, Pavel Vernikov, and Salvatore Accardo.

Jaram has been an active participant in numerous festivals and master classes in the US, Canada, and Europe, including the Kronberg Academy in Germany, Aurora Master classes in Sweden, and Amiata Festival in Italy and in 2011, she won the position of Concertmaster of the orchestra La Verdi in Milan.

An active educator as well as performer, Jaram has taught extensively throughout the US and Italy. Her faculty teaching positions include Music in the Mountains, Manhattan in the Mountains, and the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana. In addition to the Bard Preparatory Division, Jaram currently holds a teaching position at Gracias Music at Mahanaim in Huntington, NY.
