Call for Submissions: Bard College Celebrates Womxn's History Month
Monday, March 1, 2021 – Wednesday, March 31, 2021
The Office of the Dean of Inclusive Excellence, in concert with the Office of Student Activities and Council for Inclusive Excellence, requests your support for Womxn’s History Month 2021. Although we honor and benefit from the phenomenal contributions of womxn all year, Womxn’s History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the history, culture, and accomplishments of womxn on a national level. This celebration has been observed annually in the month of March since 1987. Womxn’s History Month provides an opportunity for us to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of womxn throughout American history. We speak the names of Susan B. Anthony, Wilma Mankiller, Rosa Parks, Kamala Harris, and countless other womxn warriors—acknowledging that the timeline of womxn’s history milestones stretches well beyond the founding of the United States.
If you are planning an activity that would support Womxn’s History Month, please send the name and date of the program to [email protected]. However, more importantly, please register the program in the Bard Campus Calendar via the “Submit an Event” tab. Under the “Calendar Options,” please check “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion” to ensure that the event is included in the heritage month programming calendar. A video is available to assist with this event registration process. You can also email the information to [email protected] and the event will be submitted on your behalf. For planning purposes, it would be helpful to have all events registered by February 20, 2021.
You should know that the Student Programming and Activities Resource Center (SPARC) is available to assist with the development of posters/flyers at no additional cost. Please contact SPARC as soon as possible for assistance with advertising (if needed).
Thank you for your support of collaborative DEI programming at Bard College.
