Bard invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor of the Interdisciplinary Study of Religions in the area of Hindu Studies, to begin September 2022. The position requires a strong commitment to teaching and scholarship in a liberal arts setting.
Applicants should possess a foundation in the formative traditions relevant to the study of Hinduism, with appropriate language proficiency and a critical appreciation of subsequent cultural developments. The appointment has historically been associated with the Asian Studies program, and is designed to continue in that relationship. PhD awarded or near completion is required, and teaching experience is highly desirable.
