Director of the College Transfer OfficeBard High School Early College (BHSEC) Queens, a New York City public school created in collaboration with Bard College and the Department of Education, invites applications for the Director of the College Transfer Office (CTO) to begin in the Spring 2020 semester.
The Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the college transfer advising program in Queens, serve as a CTO advisor, work with students and their families on the college application process and develop and run weekly training of staff serving as CTO advisors. The director trains a team of up to seven CTO advisors who in turn work with 16-18 students and their families during the year-long college application process. Additionally, the Director will establish relationships with college admissions representatives and help them interpret and appreciate the unique BHESC transcript. The director also assists with in-house college fairs as well as event/trip planning and data management.
The successful candidate will have strong management and interpersonal skills, will function effectively as part of a team, and will show an interest in our mission and in enabling our students to make a smooth transition to suitable four–year colleges, and will appreciate working with students and families from diverse backgrounds. Prior experience with college admissions or advising is preferred.
