Bard High School Early College Queens

Full-time or Part-Time Faculty Leave-Replacement Position - Mathematics (Bard High School Early College Queens, NY)

Employer Website: http://apply.interfolio.com/80121
About the Bard High School Early College Queens
Bard High School Early College Queens, a partnership of Bard College and the NYC Department of Education, invites applications for a full-time or part-time position in the mathematics department.
The successful applicant will teach either two sections of high school algebra, two sections of college calculus, or, if full-time, all four classes. BHSEC, a national model in public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to graduate with an associate of arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College and a NYS Regents diploma within four years.  The academic program emphasizes a commitment to teaching a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. The compensation for teaching these four classes is based on the NYC DOE salary scale for long-term substitutes.

The mathematics program at BHSEC Queens cultivates in students a deep understanding of the mathematics, the tools to choose among many possible approaches to a problem, and the language to articulate concepts and methods. Experience teaching younger students and a commitment to scholarship are desirable.
