Biography:
Nilaja Sun is an actor, playwright, and teaching artist. She is the recipient of the 2007 Obie and Lucille Lortel Awards for No Child, a one-woman show that was described in the New York Times as a “lightning-paced, multicharacter solo play” in which Sun “transforms herself effortlessly between sharply drawn characters.” Additional theater credits in New York include the solo show Pike St., Huck & Holden, Einstein’s Gift, Time and the Conways, The Cook, La Nubia Latina, and The Adventures of Barrio Grrrl! in venues such as the Cherry Lane Theatre, Clurman Theatre, Epic Theatre, Intar Theater, La MaMa, and PS122. Film appearances in HairBrained, The Bourne Legacy, Knight and Day, The International, and others; television roles on Madame Secretary, The Good Wife, Rubicon, Louie, 30 Rock, and Law and Order: SVU.BA, Franklin & Marshall College. Additional training at Trinity/La MaMa Performing Arts Program; dance studies with Patricia Hoffbauer. At Bard: 2014, Spring 2016; 2020– .
