Biography:
Tyler Archer’s research interests center on Greek tragedy, with special attention to marginality, tragic choruses, and women and gender. His dissertation, Marginality in Greek Tragedy: Reevaluating Meaningful Action, addresses what socially marginal figures, such as women and slaves, are able to achieve not in spite of, but because of, their marginal status. He previously taught or co-taught courses in classics, Latin, and the history of the Roman Empire at Princeton University, where he was the recipient of the President’s Fellowship, and Rutgers University, where he earned a BA in classics with a minor in psychology as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in ancient Greek.BA, MA, Rutgers University; MA, PhD candidate, Princeton University.
