Tuesday, June 28, 2022
Online Event
8:00 am – 10:30 am EDT/GMT-4

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

The CommUniversity 2022 workshop series, organized by OSUN and the Talloires Network, showcases university civic engagement approaches (frameworks, strategies, methods, and practices) that have been shown to produce favorable results and that represent a standard suitable for adoption or adaptation.

Other workshops in the monthly series feature leaders in the field of university civic engagement, highlighting innovative community-university research in communities in the United States, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Uganda, Ghana, and Austria.

Presenters from Makerere University in Uganda share their experience on community engagement on a variety of thematic areas including: codesigning activities for community engagement and roles of different stakeholders; preparing students for community engagements; career mapping and development for students who wish to continue working with their communities; and impact of the Scholarship Program on the community including various community-level entrepreneurial projects initiated by Scholars.

Presenters:

Justine Namaalwa, Senior Lecturer/Program Coordinator, MCFSP
Stephen Langa, Mentor on the Scholars Program
Doreen Nyago, Scholar/Student
John Osuna, Transition Officer
