Sven Anderson, Computer Science Program
The use of computers in research often results in the accumulation of data, some from experiments and other data collected less formally, perhaps from automated sensors such as microphones, photosensors, and interactive web pages. Should you consider exploring patterns in the data using machine learning? This workshop will introduce a few practical tools to help you grapple with large data sets and techniques for exploring relations hidden in the data. We will apply supervised and unsupervised algorithms to examine regression and classification problems. Attendees should bring an internet-ready computer running Google's Chrome browser.**Refreshments will be served in the RKC lobby at 3:00 p.m.**
