Massage is excellent for stress relief, to ease tense muscles, for headaches and backaches, and promotes a general sense of well-being. As a massage therapist, Christine Welker thoroughly tends to the physical body, incorporating Swedish massage, Thai stretches, Shiatsu meridian work, Lomi Lomi strokes, and site-specific deep tissue work. As an energy worker, she makes contact with the nervous system, and silently encourages the unwinding of tension held in the cells and tissues of the body.
Christine is a licensed massage therapist and a registered somatic movement therapist. She has extensive training in the healing arts, including Eastern and Western massage, movement-based expressive art therapy, yoga dance, and Lomi Lomi massage (Hawaiian-style bodywork). She is a graduate of Columbia University.
