Petar Milat is a former philosopher and serves as the head of programs at Multimedia Institute/MaMa, Zagreb, Croatia, in charge of the institute’s publishing, experimental music, and film programs. Since 2008 he has served as director of the Human Rights Film Festival, a festival of cinéma d’auteur engagé. The nexus of normative social and aesthetic theory is the main focus of his research. In 2018 Milat was a jury member at the Oberhausen Short Film Festival.
