BIO: Research Associate Daniel Karpowitz is visiting assistant professor of political studies at Bard College. Karpowitz holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he studied on a public interest fellowship. As a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal, he worked on constitutional and property rights, and later taught in the Rhetoric Department at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2003, Karpowitz received a Soros Justice Fellowship for his work with the Bard Prison Initiative, of which he is currently director of policy and academics.
