Bard College Receives Regional Economic Development Grant for Montgomery Place Mansion Restoration

Bard College has been awarded $300,000 in New York State grant funding to restore the Montgomery Place Mansion, a National Historic Landmark. Part of the state’s 2018 Regional Economic Development funding and the Environmental Protection Fund Grant Program, the funds will be used to restore the resiliency and integrity of the mansion’s exterior.

Launched in 2011, the Regional Economic Development Councils provide each region in New York State with the tools to create and implement its own road map for economic prosperity and job creation. This community­-based model uses local assets to drive local economic growth, and has resulted in collaborative partnerships that are helping to transform economies statewide. The Environmental Protection Fund Grant Program provides matching grants on a competitive basis for the acquisition, planning, and development of parks, historic properties, and heritage areas located within New York State. Visit parks.ny.gov/grants/ for more information.
