New York Times Fall Art Preview Highlights Exhibitions at Bard Graduate Center and International Center of Photography
The New York Times features two BGC shows, Majolica Mania: Transatlantic Pottery in England and the United States, 1850–1915 and Richard Tuttle: What is the Object? among the art shows to see this season. Majolica Mania is the first exhibition in decades to showcase the brightly colored, durable, and extremely popular Victorian majolica pottery. On view from September 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022. Richard Tuttle explores the meaning of objects and invites visitors to handle 75 objects, from fancy teacups to swatches of vintage fabric, from this American post-Minimalist’s personal collection. On view February 25, 2021 to July 10, 2022.
Also mentioned is International Center of Photography’s INWARD: Reflections on Interiority featuring five young artists using the most extroverted of mediums, photography, for self-reflection. On view September 24, 2021 to January 10, 2022.
