BARD COLLEGE TO HOST “MEET THE CANDIDATES” NIGHT ON OCTOBER 4 FOR STATE AND FEDERAL RACES IN NORTHERN DUTCHESS AND SOUTHERN COLUMBIA COUNTIES Bard College President Leon Botstein Will Moderate
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— On Wednesday, October 4, Bard College will host a “meet the candidates” night, bringing together candidates who are running in the two state races and one federal race affecting northern Dutchess and southern Columbia counties in 2006. Bard President Leon Botstein will moderate the event, which is free and open to the public and takes place in the multipurpose room of the Bertelsmann Campus Center beginning at 7 p.m. The event is being presented by http://election.bard.edu and is cosponsored by the Bard College Democrats and the Bard College Republicans. Speakers include: 7:00 p.m. Kirsten Gillibrand, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress, 20th District. (Incumbent Congressman John Sweeney, Republican, was invited and has expressed regrets. He has an open invitation to speak at Bard.) 7:45 p.m. Marc Molinaro, Republican, and Virginia Martin, Democrat. Both are candidates for the 103rd District seat in the New York State Assembly. 8:30 p.m. Brian Keeler, Democratic candidate for the 41st District seat in the New York State Senate.
