The Bard College Conservatory of Music Presents "Music Alive!" Concert on Friday, March 12
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The Bard College Music Program and Bard College Conservatory of Music present a concert by the Music Alive! ensembles directed by Joan Tower and Blair McMillen, on Friday, March 12. Free and open to the public, the program begins at 8:00 p.m. in Olin Hall.
The concert of works by living composers features performances by K.C. Brazeau, Ming Aldrich-Gan, Julia Bullock, Emanuel Evans, Allegra Chapman, Melvin Chen, and Blair McMillen.
The program includes David Bloom’s “Of Depth”; John Halle’s “Structural Adjustment”; David Rakowski ‘s “Fourth of Habit,” “From the Stretch,” and “Fists of Fury”; Lukas Foss’s “Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird”: Dan Becker’s “Gridlock”; Yiwen Shen’s “Das Trinklied Unter dem Mond”; Sean Friar’s “Oboemobo”; and John Corigliano’s “Chiaroscuro.”
This is the fourth year that Joan Tower, one of America’s preeminent composers and Asher B. Edelman Professor in the Arts at Bard, has organized “Music Alive!” concerts, which feature performers and composers drawn from the College’s Music Program and the Conservatory of Music.
