July 2026 Newsletter
Dear Bardian,

I guess football is not coming home (for non-soccer fans–England was once again thwarted, Wednesday in the semi-final.) Still, it was super fun to be at the World Cup Watch Party with the wonderful international students who are staying here for the summer. Thanks to the IILE and OSA for putting these games on in the Weis Cinema with AC and snacks! Looking forward to watching this weekend.

Bard MFA thesis show is at Massena in Barrytown until Sunday–open 11am-5pm. Great space to see a show! @bardmfa for photos. And the Cagecircle: Composition for an Exhibition has been extended.

Since I last wrote we have our Acting President Jonathan Becker. He is the first Bard president with social media–you can follow him @presidentbecker. The Alumni/ae Association Board of Governors Communications Committee will be hosting an all alumni/ae Zoom with Jonathan on Tuesday, September 29th, at 4:30pm. Please save the date, more information to come.

Summerscape is in full swing and the Bard Music Festival is coming up soon. We have a alumni/ae promo code (BARDALUM) for 20% off select performances which include opening night at the opera with Strauss' rarely-performed The Egyptian Helen on July 24. The Bard Music Festival celebrates Wolfgang Amadé Mozart, the most celebrated and recognized name in classical music with performances, lectures and heated rivalries.

If you like dancing, Spiegeltent After-Hours is the best place in the HV to get your groove on. Special alumni/ae nights July 25th, 31st and August 1st: Tyler Williams '19, MAT '21 is your host.

Thank you to everyone who supported Bard at the end of the fiscal year before June 30th. We are especially grateful to our sustaining donors.

P.S.

We are collecting photos of Bardians together in the summer. Whether by chance or design we want to post you! Bard weddings, random meet ups, international intersections, or just you and your friends. I'm off up north next week to Nova Scotia, never know who I might bump into in Pugwash?  Send us your photos and we'll post your photos and send you some Bard swag. #BardiansAreEverywhere #BardBesties
