Will Heinrich MFA ’13 Writes About Bard Exhibits for the New York Times
For the New York Times, Bard alumnus Will Heinrich MFA ’13 wrote about Upstate Art Weekend, an arts festival held in June across five days and ten counties which included several Bard-affiliated art events. Heinrich describes the “unmissable shows” located on Bard’s campus, including “Cagecircle: Composition for an Exhibition” at Stevenson Library and the CCS Hessel Museum's opening weekend for its summer exhibitions. Tschabalala Self ’12 presented at a group show at The Campus gallery, while many Bard faculty members and alumni/ae showed work at the Center For Photography Woodstock, including Seth David Rubin ’90, Corinne Botz MFA ’07, Sasha Phyars-Burgess ’10, and Sam Margevicius MFA ’17, professors Tim Davis ’91, An-My Lê, Tanya Marcuse, Stephen Shore, and Letha Wilson; and visiting artists Raymond Meeks and Sara J. Winston. The festival was “a chance for [Hudson Valley] artists and art lovers beyond the metropolis to remind one another how large and vibrant their community really is,” Heinrich writes.
