Description: The Energy Manager will provide managerial and technical oversight for the Utilities Staff in the Energy and Sustainability Office. The incumbent in this position provides expertise in energy resource management to ensure identification, life cycle cost analysis, design, implementation and/or construction of energy saving and sustainability initiatives in order to meet University goals and objectives for energy management, carbon neutrality, and sustainability.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, engineering, business or related technical field.; Must have two years full-time work experience in energy management or sustainability coordination in a multi-facility or campus environment. Seeking applicants with:
-Strong analytical and computing skills (using engineering economics, spreadsheets, word processing and/or other software) to develop life cycle cost analysis, generate reports, develop cost-benefit analysis, and manage energy project budgets. Strong analytical skills are necessary to determine the best overall value of a proposed initiative.
-Ability to read and understand construction documents.
-Understanding of energy modeling and energy engineering standards.
-Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills are necessary as frequent communication with faculty, staff, students, and the local community is an essential requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications include:
-Master’s degree in engineering , business or related technical field.
-LEED Certification
-Additional industry certifications in the fields of energy, sustainability and facilities management (APPA, AEE, ASHRAE, AASHE, LEED).
-Professional designation of Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
-Two years supervisory experience.
-Four years experience performing data analysis and cost accounting.
-Working knowledge of design and construction practices, inspection, code compliance, and scheduling and estimation software.
